Adam Levine on Staying 'Relevant,' Quarantine & Megan Thee Stallion

Adam Levine took what advantage he could find during the last year. The Maroon 5 frontman joined Ryan Seacrest on-air on Friday, March 26, and reflected on spending time with family in quarantine, working with Megan Thee Stallion on hit new single “Beautiful Mistakes” as well as the battle of staying “relevant” this many years in the game.

“You’re instantly forced to reassess what’s actually important, and, for me, it was … just to be able to spend time with my family and especially my little girls,” Levine shared with Seacrest, referring to his daughters Dusty, 4, and Gio, 3, with wife Behati Prinsloo. “It just felt like this interesting, weird wrinkle in time that will never happen again so I kind of dove headfirst into that. It’s been the most amazing time just because I know things are going to be different moving forward,” he added. “It was a beautiful time. Now, of course, it comes with a lot of other negative, sad things but I was kind of forced to look inward in that.”

The band had to cancel a year of tour dates and while they’re eager to return to the stage and crowds, they’ll be gracing fans first with a virtual performance hosted by American Express on March 30 dubbed “Unstaged.”

Check out the full interview with Adam for more, including his thoughts on the “fine line between being desperate to be relevant” to how the band connected with Megan Thee Stallion and much, much more.
