Halsey seemed to drop a clue about her pregnancy before making the announcement.
On Wednesday (January 27), the “You Should Be Sad” singer shocked the world when she announced she is expecting her first child. “Surprise! 🍼🌈👼🏻” the 26-year-old wrote with a series of maternity photos on Instagram, tagging Alev Aydin on her baby bump, seemingly confirming the screenwriter as the father of her unborn child.
Hours before breaking the news, though, Halsey made an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, where she may have dropped a subtle hint about her pregnancy cravings.
"I can't stop eating, I don't know what's gotten into me," the “Graveyard” musician told host Kelly Clarkson. "It's kind of being home in the quarantine. I usually eat really healthy when I'm on tour. … Since I've been home, I've had time to experiment with different snacks and I take it pretty seriously."
When asked about her latest snack obsession, the “Closer” star said she’s become obsessed with making homemade Rice Krispy treats. “ I know that doesn't make any sense, but I make them with other cereals. Like Fruity Pebbles treats, or like Cinnamon Toast Crunch treats. They're so easy to make and they're so good,” Halsey explained.
“It’s fun to do with your kids,” Clarkson said, to which Halsey replied, “Yeah, definitely! If I didn’t live alone, you know, with my dog and you know, have no family here … I’d probably do it with my kids too.”
Laughing off the notion, Halsey quickly added, “If any of my real friends are listening to that, it was a joke. I swear.”
While it’s unclear when the I Would Leave Me If I Could author filmed the interview segment, what is clear is that she wasn’t joking after all.
