Arnold Schwarzenegger Undergoes Second Heart Surgery In 2 Years

Arnold Schwarzenegger is recovering from another major operation.

The beloved Terminator star assured fans that he feels “fantastic” after undergoing heart surgery in Cleveland, Ohio, this week. Schwarzenegger provided the health update in a social media post shared Friday (October 23) along with a photo of him from the hospital bed.

“Thanks to the team at the Cleveland Clinic, I have a new aortic valve to go along with my new pulmonary valve from my last surgery,” the former California governor captioned a series of post-op pictures, including one of him giving fans the thumbs up from his hospital bed.

“I feel fantastic and have already been walking the streets of Cleveland enjoying your amazing statues," the famous action actor continued along with several other recent images that show him up and walking again. "Thank you to every doc and nurse on my team!”

The father of five also received a wave of love and well wishes on Instagram from his friends and family members, including daughter Katherine Schwarzenegger, 30, and son Patrick Schwarzenegger, 27. "PLEASE DONT GO WORKOUT TODAY!!" the Midnight Sun actor joked light-heartedly, as the Rock What You’ve Got author left heart and praying hand emojis to show her dad support.

According to PEOPLE, this is Arnold’s latest surgery in two years. As fans may recall, he previously went under the knife in 2018 for a pulmonic valve replacement. His spokesperson revealed at the time that the film star was expected to have a less-invasive catheter valve inserted but it was later determined that he required open-heart surgery instead. In 1997, Arnold had to have both an aortic valve and pulmonic valve replaced in the same year due to a congenital heart defect.
