As 2019 comes to a close, Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream" has appeared as a necessary item on decade-end lists, so maybe that's what Niall Horan and Lewis Capaldi were talking about when they decided to surprise a Chicago audience with an acoustic rendition of the smash.
During the Wednesday (December 18) stop of our "iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour," the future tourmates churned out an impromptu cover of the pop classic. "Are you nervous? Me too. We practiced this in the bathroom. We didn't do a soundcheck, so God knows what happens in the next three minutes," the former One Direction bandmate said after inviting Capaldi on-stage during his set. With their guitars, the duo spent the next few minutes reminded us just how stellar the love song holds up — even 10 years after its release.
Expect to see more of these two when Capaldi joins Horan on his upcoming "Nice To Meet Ya Tour," which is scheduled to take over North America in 2020. The 17-date trek begins in Nashville on April 20 and runs until May 20 in San Jose. Click here for more information on tickets!
