'AT40' Recap: Alessia Cara Returns to the Chart This Week

This week we say goodbye to Ellie Goulding and Juice WRLD's collab "Hate Me" and Halsey's "Without Me."

New this week, AJ Mitchell debuts with "Slow Dance" featuring Ava Max. This is his second hit, following "All My Friends. AJ remains the first and only solo male born in the 2000s to score a Top 40 hit, although two members of In Real Life were also born this century.

And Alessia Cara has the highest debut of the week with "Rooting For You." She has already had four #1s, including three in 2017: "Scars To Your Beautiful," "Stay" (with Zedd) and "1-800-273-8255" (with Logic and Khalid). How far will her latest go? We’ll find out in the weeks to come.

Lizzo scores the biggest mover this week as "Good As Hell" leaps 9 spots to #15. It’s the third Top 40 hit this century to contain the h-word in its title after "Hell Yeah" by Ginuwine (2003), "What The Hell" by Avril Lavigne (2011) and "Hurts Like Hell" by Madison Beer (2019).

In the Top 3, Lewis Capaldi holds at #3 for a third week with "Someone You Loved." Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello spend their fourth week at #2 and Lizzo continues to reign at the top of the chart for a fourth week.
