Ariana Grande stepped in to replace Kanye West after his last-minute dropout at this year's 20th anniversary of Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, and because of that, the pop star has been forced to shuffle 10 of the dates on "The Sweetener World Tour."
On Monday (January 14), it was announced that the North American dates, which were originally scheduled to wrap up on June 26, will now extend to July 13 in order to accommodate for rescheduled shows in Chicago, Columbus, Indianapolis, St. Louis, Milwaukee, St. Paul, Denver and Salt Lake City. Meanwhile, concerts planned in Omaha and Raleigh have been canceled entirely. As of now, the trek will start on March 18 at the Times Union Center in Albany, New York, before hitting markets like Boston, Philadelphia, Cleveland, Detroit and Palm Springs for the highly-anticipated music festival on April 14 and 21. Grande was called to replace 'Ye after the rapper went head-to-head with Coachella organizers because he wanted a non-traditional stage. As per Billboard, the hip-hop heavyweight originally wanted the music festival to "erect a giant dome in the middle of the festival grounds." Sources close to the outlet revealed that the structure was impossible to create in such a short time span and would require some major rearrangement of the grounds.
