Ariana Grande Drops "thank u, next" Inspired By Pete Davidson Split

Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson have been broken up for a few weeks now and it looks like the 25-year-old pop singer has some things to get off of her chest and she dropped her new song "thank u, next", inspired by their breakup.

TMZ found out earlier that she had planned to release the song 30 minutes before "SNL", most likely in response to Pete's comments made in a promo for the upcoming episode airing tonight with Jonah Hill as host. In the video, he asks the musical guest Maggie Rogers to marry him and then makes a "0 for 3" joke, referring to his highly public engagement to Ariana Grande & former girlfriend Cazzie David. Ariana didn't take that promo to well, as in a now-deleted tweet she threw some major shade at the comedian saying: "For somebody who claims to hate relevancy u sure love clinging to it huh".

Teasing today (November 3) that the record was finished in a series of tweets, she also wanted to make it very clear that this song is in no way a diss saying "no drags.... no shade..... jus love, gratitude, acceptance, honesty, forgiveness ... and growth".

Ariana Grande's last album Sweetener was released back in August and featured a record that was named "Pete Davidson."

In the first line of the song she name-drops all of her ex's including Big Sean, Mac Miller, and Ricky Alvarez, "Thought I’d end up with Sean But he wasn’t a match Wrote some songs about Ricky Now I listen and laugh Even almost got married And for Pete I’m so thankful Wish I could say thank you to Malcolm Cause he was an angel"

Pete and Ariana broke up in October after being engaged since June.
