Ashlee Simpson, Evan Ross Perform “I Do,” Talk Decision to Do Reality Show

Ashlee Simpson is making a comeback to music and reality TV, this time alongside her husband of four years Evan Ross. The couple stopped by On Air With Ryan Seacrest on Friday, September 7, and premiered their new single “I Do” with a live performance on-air and also dished on their decision to do reality show ASHLEE + EVAN.

“You’re going to see our family and our lives and we’re really proud of how we shot it, you know, we really wanted it to feel more like a documentary,” Ashlee said while talking about the upcoming E! docuseries, which premieres on E! on Sunday. “You get to see us making music together … and me trying to find my balance getting back to work and being a mom and being like ‘How do I navigate all this!’ It’s real, it’s hard.”

The mom to Bronx (with ex Pete Wentz) and Jagger Snow previously teamed up with her hubby on  2012's "Bat for a Heart." This time, they’re renewing their commitment to each other via their music and plan on releasing a track a week in conjunction with the reality show.

“It was actually really good because we’ve spent time apart when I’ve been working and things like that and we’ve wanted to do something together so it’s been amazing,” Evan shared of working with his wife. “And we’ve also gotten to know how each other work. We work differently … she loves to go to bed early,” he joked, quipping that Ashlee likes to leave the studio to be in bed by 9:30 p.m.

“Ashlee’s got a thing too,” he continued. “Like, if she’s up, everybody’s up. I’m like ‘When were you this loud?’ The doors are slamming, all the shades are open, she’s like ‘What’s up babe?’ I’m like, ‘Nothing! I’m trying to sleep!’’
