Charlie Puth has gone blond! The “Attention” singer dyed his hair platinum ahead of the 2018 Radio Disney Music Awards in Los Angeles on Friday, June 22.
The 26-year-old worked his bright new summery ’do, pairing a pink and black polka-dotted shirt with blue pants and silver sneakers. At the event, he was nominated for Breakout Artist of the Year and also performed.
The “We Don’t Talk Anymore” singer teased his blond locks on Instagram prior to hitting the 2018 Radio Disney Music Awards red carpet.
Puth — whose hair is usually dark brown — sent fans into a frenzy when he debuted the look on Instagram with a shirtless selfie and the caption: “I really like the show Billions.”
“😱omg your hair!!!!,” one person commented, while another added: “Why just why ..... want ma brown charlie back.”
Others were quick to reference Harry Potter, commenting things like “Malfoy is that you?”
The “See You Again” singer most recently dropped album Voicenotes in May 2018. During an interview with Ryan Seacrest on On Air With Ryan Seacrest the singer admitted he had a nervous breakdown while recording the album.
“It’s the first song I’ve put my whole personality into,” Charlie said of track “The Way I Am.” “Having nervous breakdowns aren’t really fun and the first time I had one … I just knew that I had to come back, get settled and write about it because I feel like a lot of people can relate to it. It was scary that more people were going to know that about my personality … It’s scary knowing that people are going to know more about me."
