There has been all sorts of rumors that The Weeknd has another EP in the works following My Dear Melancholy, which was released earlier this year.
Nothing has been confirmed, but what he just admitted he isn’t releasing is even more surprising.
He shelved a full-length, "very upbeat" and "beautiful" record that he apparently made while he was in love with Selena Gomez. He tells Time Magazine:
"Prior to Melancholy, I had a whole album written, done, which wasn’t melancholy at all because it was a different time in my life."
Adding: "I don’t want to perform something that I don’t feel."
Obviously following their breakup he had pretty different feelings.
