Rihanna Dropped as Nivea Spokesperson

Youd think that being one of the biggest pop stars in the world would mean that you would be afforded a little leeway for personal indiscretions with your sponsorship deals. But looks like Nivea skin and body care has some pretty stringent standards for these things—hey, this isn’t your debaucherous Noxzema we’re talking here—so Rihanna, who has been captured engaging in some minorly unwholesome activity as of late, is out as brand spokesperson.

New company CEO Stefan Heidenreich explained his reasoning, "Rihanna is a no go… I do not understand how to bring the core brand of Nivea in conjunction with Rihanna… Nivea is a company which stands for trust, family and reliability."

Ouch. We’re not sure if Rihanna’s stripper dalliances and inciting of hip-hop feuds necessarily precludes her from any associations with trust, family and reliability, but if that’s not just the Nivea Way, so be it. For her own part, Ri looks like she’s not really sweating it.
