Michael Stipe Joins Chris Martin on Stage at 12.12.12 Concert

Chris Martin took the stage on Wednesday at the 12.12.12 Concert at New York Citys Madison Square Garden to help raise money for Hurricane Sandy relief. After his performance of "When I Ruled the World," he cracked a joke about boy band One Direction saying, "I know you wanted One Direction, but its passed their bedtime."

But the Coldplay star turned the laughs into shock and awe when he surprised everyone by bringing out R.E.Ms Michael Stipe to perform "Losing My Religion" acoustically.
