Kelly Clarkson Would Have Loved Mariah As An 'Idol' Judge

Part 1 of American Idol’s season 12 premiere kicks off 8/7c on Fox, and America can finally get a taste of our new judges, Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj, and Keith Urban.

Of course, when our 1st Idol, Kelly Clarkson auditioned she had to impress our original critics, Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, and Paula Abdul. So, how does Kelly think it would feel trying out in front of the new team?

She says, 'I would have loved to have walked into a room and Mariah Carey was sitting there! She’s not only a great singer she’s also a great song writer as well. Also Nicki is pretty cool and she represents a whole different side of music. I think it’s pretty cool.'
