Kelly Clarkson Shares The Main Reason She Wanted To Be A Mentor On ‘Duets’
“The first four years of my career honestly were almost completely miserable…there was no one really guiding me," Kelly says.
Tonight the season 11 “American Idol” champ will be crowned. But tomorrow the very first “Idol,” Kelly Clarkson will kick off her new talent show “Duets.” On the show she will serve as a judge and a mentor. Kelly tells us why she’s especially motivated to offer advice and a helping hand to young performers.
“The first four years of my career honestly were almost completely miserable. I was 19 when I auditioned and there was no one really guiding me. It’s the main reason why I signed up to do the show,” Kelly explains. There isn’t a more capable person or genuine superstar out there to help singers find their way in the music biz. “Duets” premieres Thursday night at 8/7c on ABC.
