Kelly Clarkson Delivers Powerful Madonna Cover In Concert
Kelly does Madonna proud with her emotional cover of “Crazy For You.”
The Super Bowl was a big day for both Kelly Clarkson and music veteran Madonna. The first ever “American Idol” winner blew everyone away with her flawless rendition of the national anthem, while Madge impressed with oldies like “Vogue” and her new hit “Give Me All Your Luvin’.”
Before the big game, Kelly honored her Super Bowl partner in crime by covering Madonna’s “Crazy For You.” Kelly often takes fan requests for covers at her concerts, and in Bossier City the night before the Patriots-Giants face-off, she chose to do a rendition of the 1984 track.
“This is like a couples skate song,” she said during a break in the lyrics. Kelly told fans that “Crazy For You” takes her back to “the skating rink with Michael Webb” even though in middle and high school she was “that kid that never fit in.” Whatever rink she and Michael Webb were at must have been doing a throw-back– Kelly was only two years old when the song was released!
