Katy Perry is Launching Her Own Record Label

Add music mogul to her growing list of accomplishments because this girl is determined to create something big!

Jun 21, 2012

Katy Perry is no stranger to the music industry, so when we heard she wanted to share her talents with others—we weren’t surprised. While she looks stunning in the latest issue of The Hollywood Reporter the focus was more on her next business endeavor: starting a record label. The purple haired songstresses spoke to the mag about her expanding career, her upcoming film, and the choices she’s made along the way.

The article gives us a taste of what’s to come in her upcoming film “Part of Me,” a 3D documentary on her rise to fame and her break from her traditional Christian mold. The California girl also discusses her short-lived marriage to Russell Brand and where she sees her future self.

On Climbing Her Way To The Top: “It’s not like I won the lottery or was born into a lot of money or had connections. I really hustled my way here.”

On Being On Tour During Her Tumultuous Marriage: “I had to smack myself across the face and say, ‘These problems are my problems, they are not my audience’s problems, learn to separate that.’”

Her Outlook On Love: “I still believe in love and marriage. I’ve just learned lessons along the way. I regret nothing.”

On Creating Her Own Record Label: “And when this record label does come to fruition, I’m going to try and avoid the things that take away any fighting chance for an artist to have financial success. As people are coming to me with opportunities, I’m thinking, ‘How would I want to be treated?’”

Katy Perry’s film releases July 5 in 3D, and is sure to give an even more in-depth look at her career thus far. For a little extra something, checkout the behind-the-scenes video from the cover shoot below!
