Justin Bieber Acoustic Album and Sitcom Coming in 2013
The pop star in in talks about producing a new sitcom and announced on Ellen that he will be releasing an acoustic album next year
The increasing number of times Justin Bieber slows things down during the Believe tour aren’t solely so he can assert his power over photographers or toss souvenirs into the crowd. Stripping away heavy production with Dan Kanter gives the Bieb a chance to return to his roots, and gives fans more of an opportunity to be heard, once those overpowering synths have been removed.
Bieber stopped by the couch of his friend Ellen DeGeneres on Friday to confirm what his tweets and Instagram photos already have, as well as give us a timeline for future releases. “In January, my acoustic album is coming. That’s a big deal,” he explained. ”It’s something I think the fans really like because I started out on YouTube just playing my guitar, just singing, without all the production.” Very true, but will it be an entire album of acoustic takes on old songs, or will we get at least one new track? Maybe whatever it is you worked on with Nathan Sykes? If that mystery concoction is truly supposed to be “#nextlevel,” we’re on pins and needles.
Also in the Bieber pipeline: a television series based on his Canadian-bred, internet-refined origin story. According to TVGuide, manager Scooter Braun and Bieber are in talks to executive produce a sitcom for ABC from screenwriters Matt Wolpert and Ben Nedivi, who previously wrote for HBO’s Entourage. The series is reportedly about a future star and his “awkward teenage years” and is under consideration for the 2013 season. Will it be called Kid Rauhl? Trick question: it has to be.
