After a whirlwind romance that started in 2009, George Clooney and Italian TV host Elisabetta Canalis have ended their relationship, PEOPLE confirms.
"We are not together anymore. Its very difficult and very personal, and we hope everyone can respect our privacy," the former couple said in a statement released today.
Clooney and Canalis were last seen together at the actors 50th birthday party in May.
