Gaga covers Vanity Fair

In the September issue, Lady Gaga dishes on having sex, drug use, and her adoring fans.

Aug 2, 2010

Lady Gaga graces the cover of the September issue of Vanity Fair in shades of gray, looking like a throwback porcelain doll throwing up a peace sign.

Check out some of the interview highlights:

On sex: "I have this weird thing that if I sleep with someone theyre going to take my creativity from me through my vagina."

On romance: "Im perpetually lonely. Im lonely when Im in relationships. Its my condition as an artist. Im drawn to bad romances. And my song ["Bad Romance"] is about whether I go after those [sort of relationships] or if they find me. Im quite celibate now; I dont really get time to meet anyone."

On drug use: "I do not want my fans to ever emulate that or be that way. I dont want my fans to think they have to be that way to be great. Its in the past. It was a low point, and it led to disaster."

On rock bottom:"All I will say is I hit rock bottom, and it was enough to send a person over the edge. My mother knew the truth about that day, and she screamed so loud on the other end of the phone, Ill never forget it. And she said, Im coming to get you'... I cried. I told her I thought my life was over and I have no hope and Ive worked so hard, and I knew I was good. What would I do now? And she said, 'Im gonna let you cry for a few more hours. And then after those few hours are up, youre gonna stop crying, youre gonna pick yourself up, youre gonna go back to New York, and youre gonna kick some ass."

Check out the full interview when the September issue of Vanity Fair hits newsstands August 10.
