Drake delights hometown with all-star performance

Eminem and Jay-Z joined him onstage during the performance.

Canadian rapper Drake sent fans in his native Toronto into a frenzy on Sunday by bringing out surprise guests Eminem and Jay-Z to join him onstage during a star-studded performance.

The "Best I Ever Had" hitmaker headlined the inaugural OVO Festival at the weekend and introduced UGK star Bun B early on in his set to help kick off his performance.

He was also joined by Rick Ross, Fabolous, Young Jeezy and Kardinal Offishall for a variety of collaborations in between playing tracks from his debut album Thank Me Later.

But Drake saved his biggest acts until the end of the show - causing the crowd to scream with delight when Eminem ran out onstage to spit his verse on the all-star song Forever, which also features Kanye West and the incarcerated Lil Wayne.

Drake then teased fans by ordering his DJ to play beats by artists that had inspired him throughout his childhood, before demanding, "Gimme something from a man who's inspired me more than anybody else in my f**king life, I'd say," prompting Jay-Z's Public Service Announcement (Interlude) to blast from the speakers.

The Empire State of Mind superstar appeared onstage to rapturous applause as he belted out his hit song Run This Town.

Drake closed the show with his debut single Over and bowed down to the audience, declaring, "I love this city with my entire life."
