Jun 7, 2012

The 2012 CMT Music Awards belonged to country queen Carrie Underwood after she took home two trophies at the annual ceremony on Wednesday night.

The former American Idol winner landed the first honor of the night when her Brad Paisley duet "Remind Me" won Collaborative Video Of The Year, and she added to her haul when "Good Girl" was named Video Of The Year.

Tweeting from the event, Underwood told fans:

Scotty McCreery, another American Idol champion, also had a good night after his single "The Trouble with Girls" was voted Breakthrough Video Of The Year.

Other big winners at the Nashville, Tennessee ceremony included Lady Antebellum, who accepted Group Video Of The Year for "We Owned The Night," and Miranda Lambert, who scooped Female Video Of The Year for "Over You."

Luke Bryans "I Dont Want This Night to End" was the Male Video Of The Year and Sugarlands "I Got You" was crowned Duo Video Of The Year.

The event, which was co-hosted by actress Kristen Bell and country singer Toby Keith, also featured performances from Kenny Chesney, Lady Antebellum, Underwood and Willie Nelson.
