Bobby Brown Heads Back To Rehab
The former New Edition singer is currently in rehab seeking treatment for his addictions. His new wife confirms "Hes doing great"
(Yahoo!) Six months after his ex-wife Whitney Houston died due to a combination of cocaine use, heart disease, and ultimately drowning, Bobby Brown is seeking treatment for his own addictions. The former New Edition singer, who was arrested for DUI in March, is currently in a rehab center, his new wife confirms. "Hes doing great," Alicia Etheredge tells RadarOnline. Although a source tells the site that Brown, 43, is getting help for an alcohol addiction, his wife of just two months wouldnt confirm that detail.
In May, the "My Prerogative" singer admitted he still drank in a "Today" interview with Matt Lauer. "Im not allowed to drink for the next 30 days [per judges orders]," he said at the time. "I do have a cocktail occasionally, you know. I will again, I know that. But Im seven years clean from narcotics. You know, Im living — Im living the life that I want to live." In the same interview, Brown also admitted that he "would always be worried" that his 19-year-old daughter with Houston, Bobbi Kristina, would fall into the same addictions as her mother and father.
After Houstons death in February, Brown made the TV rounds to defend himself against the accusations that he got the "I Will Always Love You" singer into drugs. In a previous interview with "Today" in April, he revealed that their Bravo reality series, "Being Bobby Brown" — during which they often seemed under the influence — served as a "wakeup" call. "We [were] able to see that our drug use had affected our relationship, had affected the love that we felt for each other."
