Beyonce will release her new single on World Humanitarian Day. The singer’s next track “I Was Here” was written by Grammy Award-winning songwriter Diane Warren and will be released on August 19th to mark the special remembrance day created to honor the victims of the 2003 bombing in Baghdad.
Speaking to the United Nations assembly, Beyonce said: “We all see the headlines and think, ‘What can I really do to help?’ World Humanitarian Day is an opportunity for all of us to work together to make a difference.” The day was created in 2008 to promote humanitarian efforts around the world and encourage others to do the same. And Beyonce is doing her part!
