98 Degrees Reunite on Stage for the First Time in 10 Years

Singers 98 Degrees reunited on stage for the first time in a decade at New York City's famed Rockefeller Center

Aug 17, 2012

(WENN) Singers 98 Degrees shut down New York City's famed Rockefeller Center on Friday after reuniting on stage for the first time in 10 years.

The former boy band, comprised of brothers Drew and Nick Lachey, Justin Jeffre, and Jeff Timmons first broke onto the pop music scene in 1997, releasing four albums before taking an extended hiatus in 2002.

Earlier this year, the group announced it was getting back together for a reunion show on Today, and now the quartet has proved it still has the chops after a decade-long break.

The hitmakers opened the show with their 1998 classic The Hardest Thing, later performing a medley of hits, including I Do (Cherish You) and Because of You, and dad-to-be Nick Lachey admits it feels good to be on stage again.

He says, "It's great to be back together again doing what we love to do, together, on stage. It feels like just yesterday we were doing this the first time around."

However, his sibling Drew confesses the strain of rehearsals have already taken a toll on their much-older bodies, joking, "It's back pain, throat pain, knee pain, ankle pain, hip pain. Before... (we needed) steak and lobster, now it's like (laxatives) Metamucil and prune juice."
