Zedd wasn’t ready for the public attention that comes with dating Selena Gomez. The DJ told Billboard in a candid new interview that dating the pop star “changed” his life.
“Reporters were calling my parents. People were hacking my friends’ phones. I was pissed, [though] I kind of knew what I was getting myself into,” the 27-year-old said. “She is one of the most talked about people in the world, but I had no idea how much that would change my life.”
The pair dated briefly in 2015 and worked on hit track “I Want You to Know” together.
Gomez, who is now dating The Weeknd, was first spotted with Zedd in January 2015 when they were seen holding hands at a Golden Globes afterparty.
During a June 2015 interview, she sang her praise for the DJ.
“I adore Zedd a lot," she said at the time. "And I definitely had a thing with him, which was nice."
